Coach Raper
Coach Lori Raper born in Texas but raised in New Mexico has definitely traveled not only when she was younger in multiple sports programs but also from her teaching/coaching she has seen many states and although she loved traveling she now finds herself very much “at home” in Clark. As now part of the DEEP CREEK crew, her husband Todd and three boys Jarrod, Tanner and Daniel, keep her busy. She finds herself working to balance job, family and their social life best she can with a focus of “carpe diem” living each day as if it were the last; no regrets and no should’ve, could’ve or maybe!
She graduated with a BA in Exercise and Sport Science from CSU in Ft. Collins many years ago and taught and coached in California, Texas and now Colorado. This is her third year at North Routt with twelve years total. She had a very successful career playing Division I basketball for the Rams and still loves all sports but has gained such an appreciation for Winter fun and snow survival living in North Routt. She says she has the best job in the world teaching Physical Education daily and coordinating the Outdoor Wellness and Education Program with the focus on hiking, biking and cross-country/back country skiing. It is awesome to be outdoors with a challenge some days but to adapt activities with our weather and enjoy challenging every student to do their best. Yet, have fun and learn what may be best in their future for “LIFETIME ACTIVITIES.”
Coach likes golfing, fishing, boating, cross country skiing, biking, reading and catching up to her three sons in whatever activity they may be doing. “Having children is my best creation ever!” Says Coach.
She is very excited about the new school and its possibilities for the future with new avenues and the added benefits for the community as well as the student body. It is a privilege to set the example for the future years to come and to pass on what she knows and loves to do!
