MRS. AMY

Mrs. AmyAmy was raised in Colorado and earned BA degrees in Psychology and Education from Western State College in Gunnison, CO. Her teaching career began in Los Lunas, NM and on the plains of Colorado in La Junta, where she was a second grade classroom teacher. The bulk of her teaching experience was as a classroom teacher in a Concord, New Hampshire public elementary school where she taught first, second, fifth and sixth grades. While in Concord, Amy developed a deep appreciation for the value of literacy in all grades. Due to this passion she has pursued significant training and acquired diverse skills that enable her to utilize research-based techniques and strategies to ensure that all kids succeed–especially in the literacy area. Amy’s teaching philosophy is to teach all children to learn all subjects in the best manner for the child capitalizing on their strengths and in an environment where they are assured of success.

Since returning to Colorado, Amy has taught at Soda Creek Elementary School in Steamboat, Hayden Elementary School and has been at the North Rout Community Charter School since 2004. She lives in Clark with her husband and three children and enjoys many sports and activities, including running, pottery, and trying keep up with her kids on the ski slopes.
